Resources

Resources from Page Paws can be limited in funds at times so thankfully, there are more organizations able to help our community and its animals.

Spay / Neuter Assistance

Behavioral Assistance

  • Southern HosPETality offers behavioral evaluations, private training classes, and residential training ("Doggy Boot Camp").
  • Positive Paws K-9 Angels offers socialization and specialized training for therapy dogs.

Low-Cost Medical Assistance

Pet Food Assistance Programs

  • Friends of SVASC is proud to offer a Community Pet Food Pantry thanks to generous donors in the community. The pantry is housed here at SVASC and we are able to provide dry cat and dog food, along with other necessities, such as kitty litter, collars, and leashes. Please note that these items are provided based on donations, and therefore supply varies day-to-day. Email us at SVASC@co.augusta.va.us for more information on this program.
  • Dogs Deserve Better
  • Cat's Cradle

Trap - Neuter - Return

In a Trap-Neuter-Return program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped (the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home.

Read more about TNR by visiting Alley Cat Allies.

For TNR assistance, please reach out to Cat's Cradle at (540) 433-1135 and leave a voicemail expressing interest in their TNR program. While Cat's Cradle is based in Harrisonburg, VA they are frequently able to assist residents of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
